My Learning Goals at UKM

step by step I want to grow in UKM. Career DevelopmentMy goals are fairly simple: polish my English, get some real business skills, and learn what it takes to be a better teammate and speaker.

This is my plan. I will read 1 worthwhile book per month, and take notes. I’m every week doing Excel and basic data know-how and I'm doing it more before our Q1 period is over. Probably I will ask0ne question or contribute 0ne idea in class. I want to join a student club to meet people and learn to work with themAn exchange student said: I will join one student club to meet people etc. But if there is case competition or project, I will go for it, even if I am shaking in my boots.

Small actions create big change.Each Sunday I will review my week and repair what I didn’t do well. I know I will make mistakes, but I am just going to keep going! With this plan I am feeling ready and excited for the sem!

Finding My Best Study Spots at UKM

In my first week, I was just walking around the campus looking for good places to study. The main library   quickly became my most visited place. It's bright, it's quiet, and the chairs are comfortable. I enjoy the smell of books and the gentle sound of a turning page. Occasionally I'll work on the tiny table by the window. I feel relaxed and I can concentrate when the sun shines in. For group work I go to a place where we can talk without disturbing the peace. I also carved out a warm, comfortable niche at a café on campus. I make a list of assignments in my notebook, and I go over slides. A cup of tea keeps me awake. Little by little, these places made me feel at home. When I know where to sit and think, it’s easier, and more enjoyable, to learn.

The First Week I Was at UKM

 At the start of the week, there was an opening ceremony.    I was both scared and excited at the same time.    There were people I didn't know, a language I didn't know, and a culture I didn't know.    For a moment, I didn't know what to do. I didn't sleep at all the night before because I was worried I would be late.    After the ceremony, there were a lot of fun games.    I joined a few and got tired and a little dizzy pretty quickly.    A teacher saw me and took me to a quiet room, where they gave me food and water.    I was very grateful because I felt safe and cared for.   I also met a lot of nice people to hang out with.    They smiled at me, talked to me, and even showed me around the school for a little while.    It made me feel better to talk about our first days.    It began to seem like a pleasant, warm place to be on campus.
