The First Week I Was at UKM
At the start of the week, there was an opening ceremony. I was both scared and excited at the same time. There were people I didn't know, a language I didn't know, and a culture I didn't know. For a moment, I didn't know what to do.
I didn't sleep at all the night before because I was worried I would be late. After the ceremony, there were a lot of fun games. I joined a few and got tired and a little dizzy pretty quickly. A teacher saw me and took me to a quiet room, where they gave me food and water. I was very grateful because I felt safe and cared for.
I also met a lot of nice people to hang out with. They smiled at me, talked to me, and even showed me around the school for a little while. It made me feel better to talk about our first days. It began to seem like a pleasant, warm place to be on campus.
That week was the start of classes. There were a lot of group talks and the teachers were nice and full of energy. This class is a lot different from the ones I took in high school. My worry changed into confidence by the end of the week. I was ready to learn, grow, and talk at UKM!
