My Growth Journey – From Shy to Confident
When I was younger, I used to get nervous about speaking. I was scared to be judged and maybe I was going to say something wrong. And because of that, I mostly stayed quiet even when I had something to say. I thought speaking to people was as close to impossible as you can get, and I always wanted more confidence like everyone else had around me.
When I started to think more, to read more, and to travel more things changed. Books gave me new ways of looking at life, and travel showed me how different people live and talk. I began to realize everyone makes mistakes during that time and that it’s okay to be imperfect. The more I saw of the world, the more I knew myself. Gradually, I found it easier and easier to talk about what I thought and how I felt.
Today, I’m not afraid to say how I feel or talk to people. I feel comfortable raising my hand in class, voicing my opinion in group discussions, and talking to strangers. I’ve discovered that being brave doesn’t mean you’re not scared — it means you talk and act even when you are. This change in me has left me more positive, more open, and more prepared to take whatever comes next.
